Tanoa Community Grant FAQ

The Tanoa Community Grant aims to support community-led initiatives that:

  • Help Pasifika communities with grassroots initiatives to support and sustain the effective work they do to improve health & wellbeing within their communities.

Applicants can apply for up to $5,000 excl. GST.

Applications opened on Monday 29th August and will close at 5pm on Monday, 24th October 2022.

Objectives

 The Tanoa Community Grants aims to support community-led initiatives that:

  • Help Pasifika communities with grassroots initiatives to support and sustain the effective work they do to improve health & wellbeing within their communities.

 

Applicants can apply for up to $5,000 excl. GST.

Key dates

The Tanoa Community Grants opens for applications open on Monday 29th August and will close at 5pm on Monday 24th October. 

All successful applicants will be notified by the 7th November 2022.

Who can apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand

  • be of Pacific descent, or serve a Pacific audience

  • represent a Pacific owned and/or operated group or organisation

  • be able to deliver an initiative targeted at Pacific communities within the timeframe and allocated funding

What is funded

Tanoa Community Grants funding is available for initiatives that are aligned to (but not limited to):

  • targeted at Pacific communities

  • through different mediums such as music, dance, cultural arts and craft, sports, cultural knowledge etc

  • can be delivered successfully by 30 June 2023.

What's not funded

The Tanoa Community Grant is not available for:

  • individuals

  • academic research and other academic activities.

  • for-profit business 

  • educational institutions including Early Learning, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary providers (funding that sits in other sectors)

  • programmes and activities delivered overseas including the NZ realm countries.

  • debt repayment or debt servicing

  • travel, accommodation, or fact-finding tours

  • initiatives outside the purpose of the Tanoa Community Grant

Applicants can apply by submitting a costed proposal of up to $5,000 using the online application form
