Ola Ponapona

The Ola Ponapona Project was a two-part educational initiative delivered by Mapu Maia in partnership with 360 Tautua Trust, aimed at raising awareness of gambling harm among Samoan elderlies (mātua) in Māngere and Ōtara.

Grounded in the values of talanoa and cultural safety, the programme created a warm, respectful space for mātua to reflect on gambling behaviours, budgeting habits, and the broader impact of gambling on Pacific families.
